WHAT YOU GET

Growing up, athletics have always been a part of my life, originally playing almost every sport my town had to offer and taking any chance I could get to improve on my sport. By high school, I was down to three sports: football, basketball, and baseball. However, halfway through my high school career, I was introduced to track and the art of throwing. Like many football players, I originally participated in track just to improve my strength and speed for football, but I surprised myself by surpassing 50' in the shot-put and 150' in the disc. With early success, I was determined to improve my marks in my senior year, ending off the season at 58' in shot-put and 170' in discus, finishing on the podium at the Meet of Champions.
Off to college at Boston University, I continued with my throws training under Coach Grant Cartwright, former Michigan T&F Alumni and director of the current BU T&F program. Through his mentorship, Iearned and still continue to learn the art of trusting the process of training and how the power of consistency will bring success in throwing. Learning new events, such as hammer and weight throw, along with adjusting to the higher level of training was not easy, but as my second collegiete season comes to an end, I stood upon the podium for the Patriot Leage three different times across four of my events, two of those being for events I learned only a couple years ago. I believe this is truly a testiment to my coaches unique and effective program, as well as proving how consistency even through the offseason makes all the difference.
My dream is pass on what I have learned through my mentorship and coaching to my fellow New Jersey athletes, being a valuble resource to help them achieve beyond their biggest athletic dreams.
